BoomBozz Review | Carmel, IN

The BoomBozz Taphouse location I visited just recently opened in Carmel, Indiana and there is also a location in Gilbert, Arizona as well as four in Louisville, Kentucky where Famous BoomBozz Pizza started.   My meal began with pretzels and beer cheese which were incredibly good.  My tip is to save their house made beer cheese to dip your crust into as well.  BoomBozz seems to be known for their award-winning original creation pizzas such as the fire roasted fajita, portobello bello, and Tuscan chicken.   However, I decided to keep it fairly simple and ordered ham and bacon on my half while my wife went with BBQ chicken for her half.  BoomBozz makes their sauce fresh daily and also slices most of their meat daily, and I think the fresh toppings really shined on this pizza.  I definitely liked my pizza, but I am also interested in returning to sample some more of their creations (Tony’s Big Pie sounds particularly intriguing).  BoomBozz also offers many other appetizers beyond the pretzels, salads, calzones, sandwiches, and pasta.  As the Carmel location is a taphouse, it has a great beer selection, and I enjoyed a Schlafly that I always thought was only available in the St. Louis area.  I think it is well worth it to visit BoomBozz if you are looking for new pizza place to try.

4/15/12 Update – I went back to BoomBozz and met my above-stated goal by ordering Tony’s Big Pie (pictured above), their New York-style pizza.  This pizza was very good and will certainly be my go-to menu selection at BoomBozz in the future.  It was thinner than their regular pizza which allowed me to more thoroughly enjoy the cheese and toppings, and it also had some seasoning or spices on it that I did not notice on their other pizzas.  If your pizza tastes closely align with mine, then I would try Tony’s Big Pie at BoomBozz.
