Gina Marie’s Pizza | Knox, IN

Gina Marie’s Pizza was one of the most pleasant surprises I have had during my pizza adventures.  This restaurant is located in the middle of an unassuming strip mall in the small town of Knox, Indiana.  They offer very good pizza with a thin crust that reminded me of Donatos.  Gina Marie’s pizzas are pretty greasy (in a good way) as you can see from the picture of the ham and bacon pizza above and the extra cheese and pepperoni pizza pictured below (that is grease, not yellow cheese).  They also offer deep dish Chicago-style pizza that I hear is quite popular, but I have not tried it yet.  There is only one table inside the restaurant, so plan to get your pizza via carryout or delivery.  At this time, they do not have a website, so I have posted their menu with the pictures below. If you ever find yourself in Knox, it would be worth it to check out Gina Marie’s Pizza as it is truly a diamond in the rough.

9/3/11 Update – Gina Marie’s has continued to firmly entrench itself as one of my favorite “hole-in-the-wall” pizza places ever since my first post.  I try to go there every time I am around Knox, and every time I am extremly pleased with their delicious thin crust pizza.  Their thin crust pizza is so good that I still haven’t tried their deep dish, however, I was able to try their newest creation; garbalz (pictured above).  Please don’t be ashamed if you are wondering what the heck garbalz are as I had to ask that very question and would be delighted to share with you what they are.  Garbalz are basically fried bread balls coated in garlic butter and parmesan cheese.  I know it sounds pretty simple, but adding the element of frying really takes a fairly common dish to a whole new level.  So stop by Gina Marie’s for a great pizza and garbalz today.
