Pizza My Heart was founded in 1981 and remains family-owned with many locations in California. I visited their restaurant in the Bay Street Mall in the Oakland-area, and it is located towards the south end of this outdoor mall near the movie theater. Pizza My Heart offers quick pizza-by-the-slice as well as whole pies, plus bread sticks, wings, and salads. I tried two slices of pepperoni and sausage, but they have many more interesting topping combinations if you desire – some of them are even award-winning. I was impressed with the fact that my slices still tasted pretty fresh despite them already having been prepared and then just reheated when I ordered them. In fact, the crust still managed to be fairly crispy on the outside. Another thing that I liked about Pizza My Heart was that they offered a lot of extra seasonings, such as garlic powder, basil, and olive oil, for you to add to your pizza yourself. In general, I’m not a huge fan of pre-made pizza-by-the-slice, but Pizza My Heart represents one of the better options for this type of pizza place.
