Ruckus Pizza Review | Raleigh, NC

Ruckus Pizza has three locations in North Carolina, and I ate at the one in Raleigh near North Carolina State University’s campus.  While some of the pictures on their website indicate a family dining atmosphere, I would caution that the Ruckus in Raleigh offers more of a late night sports bar theme.   This is not meant to be a negative comment as the staff was very friendly, but it seems as though their restaurants may have different environments.

I started with their cheese bread pictured above, and it was okay.  However, the most exciting part of my meal occurred when they placed two gigantic slices of pepperoni and sausage pizza in front of me.  I truly cannot recall ever having larger slices of pizza, and you can see in the picture that one single paper plate is nowhere near capable of containing these two slices.  In fact, a combination of three plates is needed.  The pizza itself was fairly greasy with a thin crust that was soft, not crispy.  The toppings were okay, but I tend to prefer the crumbled sausage as opposed to their sliced variety.  Ruckus’ menu also features sandwiches and a few other appetizer options besides the cheese bread that I had.  Overall, I am happy I tried Ruckus Pizza and recommend the location in Raleigh if you are looking for some big New York-style slices of pizza and a few beers.
