Gamberetti’s has the dishes of a fine Italian restaurant with a fairly laid back atmosphere. They strive to utilize as many local ingredients as possible and have a nice local wine list as well. Every meal at Gamberetti’s begins with bread and oil, with even the olive oil being local. We also ordered their parmigiana garlic bread. It was good but not really necessary because of the deliciously soft bread they serve with the oil.
Parmigiana Garlic Bread
I went outside of my comfort zone by ordering the Puttanesca grilled pizza at Gamberetti’s, and it included marinara, capers, kalamata olives, chili flakes, feta, arugula, basil, asiago, and mozzarella. The pizza was pretty hearty and not wimpy like you’ll find at some Italian restaurants. They also make a Margherita pizza if you are looking for something potentially lighter though. All of the toppings were good and so was the cheese. My only complaint would be that I found it to be a little heavy on the sauce, and it could overpower the other flavors on some bites.

I really enjoyed Gamberetti’s Italian Restaurant overall and would certainly dine there again if given the opportunity. Based on my fellow diners’ meals, I would probably recommend trying one of their very well received pasta dishes over pizza though, unless you are really in the mood for pizza – which I can certainly understand.
