Pearl Street Pizzeria & Pub in Indianapolis, Indiana can truly be considered a hidden gem as it is incredibly easy to miss unless you are really looking for it. Some websites actually have its address as being on Pennsylvania Street, but it is on Pearl Street, which is really more of just an alley off of Pennsylvania between Washington and Maryland Streets. If you are lucky enough to find Pearl Street Pizzeria & Pub, you would be very well served to dine there. They are locally owned and seem to take pride in promoting local things, and this is really made clear thru their large list of Indiana-brewed beers. Given their location and beer selection, I think they would make a great place to go to before a Pacers or Colts game.
I tried Pearl Street Pizzeria & Pub’s margherita (top) and meat lovers (above) pizzas. Both of these pizzas had perfectly-formed, soft hand-tossed crust, and they also offer deep dish crust as an option. I enjoyed the margherita pizza the most as it featured garlic that mixed amazingly well with the rich cheese to create a very delicious pizza. True garlic lovers should also get their cheesy breadsticks with garlic dipping sauce as it is incredibly pungent on its own. Pearl Street Pizzeria & Pub has a lot of unique specialty pizzas and toppings, so I would definitely give them a try if you are looking for a great place to have a pizza and a drink (or two) downtown.
