Adrienne’s Pizza Bar in New York City is located in the Financial District of lower Manhattan. It is in a neat alley of restaurants and bars that is closed off to traffic and has picnic tables covering the road for the outside seating. Not far from the New York Stock Exchange, I imagine this is an area where the investment bankers of Wall Street go to blow off some steam. Adrienne’s itself offers beer, wine, and cocktails along with their pizza, salad, pasta, and sandwiches. I ordered their Old Fashioned pizza which consists of crushed tomatoes, homemade mozzarella, and parmesan cheese, and I also added pepperoni and garlic to it. The pizza is made in a rectangular pan like Sicilian-style, but the crust on Adrienne’s pizza is thinner and crispier than typical Sicilian-style pizza. The pepperoni had good flavor with some kick, and the garlic comes in the form of large slices of cloves. It is probably for the best that they aren’t quite as powerful as they look though. Overall, I was very impressed with the pizza and Adrienne’s Pizza Bar, and I would recommend it as a great place to eat inside or outside, if the weather is nice, and it also offers a nice departure from the more standard New York-style pizza-by-the-slice if you need that.
