Mangia Italian Grill & Sports Cafe is in the heart of Annapolis just off of the water. They offer deep dish Sicilian or thin crust pizza, and I tried their thin crust per the waiter’s recommendation. It was fairly similar to a New York-style pizza just with a slightly thicker crust that was fairly soft. The pepperoni was very good, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the sausage as it was more like slices of a sausage a link as opposed to the more common crumbles. The downstairs part of this restaurant looks like a small pizza parlor where slices can be ordered and eaten at the counter or outside and carryout can be picked up. The upstairs portion has two levels of seating and a bar with plenty of sports memorabilia all around. I am told this is the popular place for locals to get a late night slice (they are open until 2 am on Friday and Saturday) after going to the bars. If you are enjoying time in downtown Annapolis, Mangia Italian Grill & Sports Cafe offers a nice relaxed environment to enjoy some pizza, calzones, or pasta.
