Pizzeria di Giovanni was recommended to me by our tour guide in Charleston, and I believe it was a very good recommendation. Although, in the interest of full disclosure, I should point out that our tour guide was leading us on a pub tour, and I ate this pizza after the tour was completed. Therefore, I probably was not in a state to be an incredibily harsh critic. Still, I was very impressed with Pizzeria di Giovanni’s New York style pizza. You can order pizza by the slice there, and the crust is incredibly thin in true New York pizza fashion. They also offer tasty garlic powder in addition to the standard parmesan cheese and crushed red peppers to add to your pizza. I would recommend Pizzeria di Giovanni to anyone in downtown Charleston looking to grap a New York slice.
