Tony Sacco’s Coal Oven Pizza has great crust and sauce, but their pizzas are somewhat light on cheese and toppings in more of a traditional style. The pizzas are baked in a coal fired oven at about 1000 degrees for four minutes, and the sauce is made fresh daily from Italian plum tomatoes. The Pizza Fan’s secret recommendation to dining at Tony Sacco’s is to start with the garlic rotolis, and ask your server to leave the bowl so that you can continue to dip your crust in the garlic flavoring throughout your meal.
12/21/10 Update – While I don’t ever like to go away from my original thoughts and change a rating, I tried a pizza with more of my type of toppings at Tony Sacco’s today, and it forced me upgrade their rating from a 6 to a 7. A picture of this game changing pizza is below.
What I Ate: 4/21/10 – Napoli (sauce, meatballs, ricotta, provolone), 12/21/10 – Sausage, Pepperoni, and Bacon
