Despite the fact that they annoyingly call it Flatizza, I felt obligated to try this offering at Subway since they are technically the world’s largest restaurant chain that serves pizza. I went in with fairly low expectations, and I would say those were appropriately set. My pepperoni “Flatizza” had a somewhat tough crust, and the sauce tasted like it belonged to a pasta dish more than pizza. I couldn’t taste the pepperoni very much, but they did put a pretty good amount of decent-tasting cheese on it. One nice thing is that these Flatizzas only cost $3.75, however, they are also pretty small and probably wouldn’t fill up any non-dieting adult. I have nothing against Subway in general, but I can say with a fair amount of certainty that I will be sticking with their subs in the future and won’t be ordering another Flatizza. I’m told the pizza that was on their menu before the Flatizzas was better and more filling, so I guess we can hope that they go back to that recipe. With all of that being said, it is hard to completely screw up pizza, and I would still eat a Flatizza if I were given one when hungry.
