Pizza Hut | Carmel, IN

4/3/2013 Update – Unfortunately, the Pizza Hut at 1344 South Rangeline Road in Carmel that offered the buffet has closed.  However, they do still have a carryout and delivery location at 705 South Rangeline Road in Carmel.  The closest Pizza Hut restaurants with dine-in options and the lunch buffet are in Indianapolis, Fishers, and Noblesville.

I feel as though it would be somewhat insulting to pizza fans reading this website to actually try to tell them about Pizza Hut. Nobody should actually need to read a review on Pizza Hut unless they aren’t really even sure what pizza is. Pizza Hut is probably the first pizza place I ever went to, and I would think that it has to be the most recognized one in the nation (if you would like to read up on its history, you can here). I still frequent the Pizza Hut buffet at their restaurant in Carmel from time to time, but, sadly, I don’t think it has ever been the same since they were forced to move out of their free-standing restaurant and into one in a strip mall.  While Pizza Hut may not always be the most exciting option, I do believe they deserve credit for continuing to offer new options and different pizza styles like the Big New-Yorker or stuffed-crust pizza, and they will always offer some nostalgic value to me at least.

What I Ate: Various pizzas on the buffet

Funny story…Whenever I think of Pizza Hut I remember the time that I went there with my niece, Abby, she was maybe 4 or 5 at the time. We ordered a pepperoni pizza. She had a slice on her plate and picked it up. Well, you know how the pepperoni sometimes bakes and the sides come up and it is concave? Well, there was a concave pepperoni and Abby picked up the pizza and proceeded to slurp the puddle of grease that had formed in the bottom of the pepperoni. She went “sluuuuuurp” really loudly. And when we all had realized what she had done we all went “ewwwwwwwwww” So when you say Pizza Hut that’s what I’m thinking about.

    THE END
